New Village Productions comes to the Lower East Side.
After fourteen years as a traveling company, New Village Productions has found a home as the theater wing of All Out Arts and is now a resident company at the Clemente Soto Velez Center, 107 Suffolk Street.
New Village Productions was established in 1989 to support Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender playwrights when no such support was available.
New Village Productions has grown into a company dedicated to developing and producing the work of outstanding playwrights who challenge conventional views of the lives of Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender people.
NVP has produced 43 plays, 2 Cabaret reviews, innumerable developmental readings and workshops, as well as ten LGBT short play festivals including, the International Lesbian and Gay Short Play Festival in conjunction with Gay Games '94.
Many of these plays have gone on to larger venues in the United Stated and in Europe.
